Workshop With Drew Dellinger: A Cosmology of Connection: Creativity & Climate Change.

Video with Drew Dellinger on Wednesday 3rd July 2019

The workshop was filmed at the Advaya event Cosmology, Creativity & Climate Change on 3rd July 2019.

In the talk, Drew explored how to move from our worldview of separation to a cosmology of connection, and how we can build movements that connect ecology, justice, and cosmology with the powers of Dream, Story, Art, and Action.

The workshop that followed explored how we keep our hearts open and our creativity engaged while facing the climate and mass extinction crises, and racial, gender, social, and economic injustice? How do we move from the modern worldview of separation to a cosmology of connection?

This was celebratory gathering including a workshop, talk and open mic. We looked at the intersections of ecology and social justice, cosmology and politics, activism, art, and imagination.

Sara Zaltash then lead an open mic, welcoming songs, personal reflection, story-telling, poetry and more from the audience - all offered up in devotion to the great life we all share.

About the Open Mic format:
Beloved Sara says, “over the years, I realised that the simple open mic format is the ideal arena for any community to pour out its hopes, dreams, blessings and sorrows, and for us all to witness each other in our individual and collective art of survival. Offering up our songs, poems, prayers, stories, dances - whatever moves our spirit - the humble open mic becomes a cauldron of devotion, bubbling with compassion and conviviality, creating from the our being outwards to the heavens and earth. As host, I love to weave the collective offerings together with my own exaltations, in the form of original and classic songs, diverse scriptural references and a dash of enchantment. My favourite offerings are the unexpected ones - meek or impassioned, I revel in seeing the light shine out from underneath our bushels. Come one, come all, come holy! Saying that, spots are limited so if you know you have an offering to share, ping me a message in advance and I’ll save you a slot. We’ll have two mics on stands and a guitar for you, such is the way of the open mic.”
