Dr Deepa Apte

Always interested in a holistic approach to healing, she subsequently trained as an Ayurvedic Practitioner, Ayurveda being the 5000 year old science of healing and wellbeing of India. After having run successful practices in India and Germany, she founded Ayurveda Pura in London in 2003 with the aim of delivering superlative quality Ayurvedic health products and services to Western audiences, in an easy to access manner. The sincere approach she took to everything she did led to the reputation of her products and Academy courses growing through word of mouth. Her product range then expanded into herbal food supplements and natural cosmetics, which she developed herself, with her online business growing to over 80 products and courses by 2009. In 2010 Dr Deepa Apté opened the Ayurveda Pura Health Spa and Beauty Centre, a luxurious day spa offering a wide range of beauty and authentic Ayurvedic and other holistic treatments. In 2012 she redesigned and expanded her range of cosmetics and massage oils to launch the Holistic Essentials TM range of 100% natural, premier Spa quality beauty products. These products applied the benefits of modern research while remaining faithful to the principles of Ayurveda. Holistic EssentialsTM products are organic, SLS free, perfume-free, parabens-free, free of animal testing and are hand-made in the UK. No other Ayurvedic company in the world has won such a broad range of European awards.

Educating people of all levels (from lay beginners to trained medical doctors) about the health benefits of the Sub-continent’s ancient Ayurvedic knowledge of health and wellbeing is a passion that drives Dr Deepa Apté. Her Ayurveda Pura Academy, accredited by the CMA Complementary Medical Association) and the FHT (Federation of Holistic Therapists) has inspired and changed hundreds of lives across the world with her broad knowledge on Ayurveda, and the depth and clarity with which she teaches.

Over the years Dr Apté has been a post graduate lecturer at the University of Wales, an external Masters degree Examiner for the University of Middlesex. She regularly speaks at top business gatherings and conferences around the world (e.g. she is a lead trainer for Estee Lauder’s Aveda management team and lectures regularly at the Yoga Show). She has written for publictions including The Daily Mail, The Times, the Natural Health Magazine, Health & Fitness magazine, “She” magazine, Holland and Barrett’s Healthy magazine and Choice Health Magazine. After winning a number of prestigious awards for her work, Dr. Deepa Apte was shortlisted for the Asian Women of Achievement Award 2014 and Business Woman of the Year at the British Indian Awards, 2014 She is also a proud recipient of the “Excellence in Education Awards – Tutor of the Year” at FHT – Federation of Holistic Therapists
