In ULB 2, you will be asked to sit with your own complicity in systemic violence. If you have not had to do that before, it may be surprisingly painful and your defences may be activated in an effort to protect you from that. You will have to start to use the tools offered by the course to find balance.

Sensing Harm by Design

Course Website: https://courses.advaya.life/sensing-harm-by-design | Sensing Harm by Design, by the Gesturing Towards Decolonial Futures Collective, is a six-week course designed to support participants to activate dispositions that can expand their capacity to navigate increasing volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity (VUCA) and to hold space for what is difficult and painful without feeling overwhelmed, immobilised or demanding quick fixes or rescue from discomfort. This course is for those who want to be better equipped to navigate the times we live in; to learn how to build different relationships and to build relationships differently, and to weather current and coming storms together without relationships falling apart. Decolonial practice and radical systems change need to begin now—and this starts with ourselves. The course runs from 26 June to 31 July, on Mondays, 5–7pm UK.

GTDF are a trans-disciplinary collective of researchers, artists, educators, students & Indigenous knowledge keepers. Their collaborative practices bring together concerns related to racism, colonialism, unsustainability, climate change, biodiversity loss, economic instability, mental health crises, & intensifications of social & ecological violence. The focus of the work is on building stamina, capacity & dispositions for painful work (self-and world-unmaking) through artistic & educational experiments that can help us to hold space for difficult conversations.
