Yoga and Rewilding Retreat at Carthew Farm, Cornwall
Retreat with Christabel Reed, Ruby Reed
Set in the beautiful surroundings of Carthew Farm in Cornwall, Advaya hosted our yoga second retreat with meditation, wild walks, foraging, swimming and vegan food.
Wednesday 4th May to Sunday 8th May, 2016 Carthew Farm, Cornwall
In the Spring of 2016, Advaya Initiative had the absolute pleasure of hosting twenty-two twenty-something year olds at Carthew Farm for their second, very affordable, Yoga and Rewilding Retreat.
Each morning was spent practicing Vinyasa Krama Yoga, Pranayama and Chanting, followed by delicious vegan breakfasts of bircher muesli, cosy porridge, fruit, rye bread, jams, peanut butter, avocado and roasted tomatoes.
From breakfast until lunch we’d either go on long walks through the woods, foraging wild garlic and other treats, or go wild swimming and walking along some of the stunning beaches of Cornwall.
After a healthy and fresh lunch, all cooked by the amazing Ithaka Roddam with the help of our guests, some would take it easy chatting, reading or drawing whilst others would take trips out.
Around 18:30 the evening Yoga class would begin, again taught by Christabel Reed. The evening sessions would generally be less dynamic, leaving more time at the end for meditation practice and breath development. Soon after the evening class finished, dinner was served.
Ithaka did an incredible job of serving the most delicious vegan food, which didn’t feel as though you were limiting yourself from what you might usually consume!
Evenings were spent playing games, chatting and laughing. It was truly the greatest pleasure to host this wonderful, open-minded, easy-going and very funny group of individuals! Can’t wait for many more to come!
